Mind Diver casts the player as an investigator using experimental technology to delve into the fragmented subconscious. The main objective is to solve a missing person's case by navigating the Ocean of Mind of a woman named Lina. Her memory holds secrets necessary to unravel the circumstances of her partner Sebastian's disappearance. In this mental space, the investigation progresses through the analysis of distorted images and hidden data. This process requires reconstructing events no longer accessible to Lina's consciousness and forming the basis of the entire case.

Mind Diver core gameplay focuses on reconstructing damaged memories, turning each one into an interactive puzzle. Each fragment of memory is incomplete, missing a key detail that the player must decipher and fill in to progress. The answers are logical but not immediately obvious, requiring the player to find and correctly interpret the clues gathered during the investigation. This is achieved by eavesdropping on private conversations and examining small details of the environment to establish the correct connections. Each successfully reconstructed moment reveals new details of the past, building the plot step by step.

The investigation sheds light on the story of Lina and Sebastian, a couple whose relationship has reached a dead end. Lina suffers from memory loss, and Sebastian's disappearance appears to be connected to a sinister party that conceals something deeper. A dark tragedy, buried in a region of her mind called Guilt, is a key element of the mystery. The entire title is a psychological thriller dedicated to the search for truth in a fractured mind. The game's main goal is to reconstruct the timeline of events and understand the cause of the emotional breakdown at the heart of the plot.
