About The Game

Quarantine Zone The Last Check is an uncompromising dive into the bureaucracy and brutal decisions inherent in managing a crisis border. This title firmly roots itself in the Strategy Simulation genre, requiring players to focus on long term management, resource allocation, and ethical positioning. You are the commander of a checkpoint at the edge of an infected zone, tasked with maintaining order and preventing contagion from spreading into the uninfected populace.

The core gameplay loop centers around personnel management and infrastructural upgrades. Every day presents new threats, from resource scarcity to political pressure. You must strategically assign your limited pool of guards, doctors, and engineers to maximize efficiency while minimizing burnout and dissent. Investing in training facilities allows staff to specialize, unlocking higher levels of inspection accuracy or medical treatment effectiveness, crucial for survival.

Full Description

Financial management dictates the pace of your expansion. Revenue streams are unpredictable, relying on seized contraband or political grants, which are often tied to satisfying difficult mandates. You must balance the need for advanced screening technology against immediate operational costs like food and power. This creates a constant, low level tension where every budgetary decision has tangible, life or death consequences for your staff and the queue of refugees.

The game is reasonably well optimized, though the intricate flow of the simulation, tracking dozens of individual characters and complex viral progression models, does benefit from a solid processor. The visual presentation, while Indie in scope, effectively conveys the grim atmosphere of the zone. For a detailed look at the interface and strategic map layouts, we recommend you examine the screenshots and data sheets provided on this page.

Successfully navigating the political landscape is as important as managing resources. Balancing the demands of an increasingly frantic central government against the needs of the desperate individuals arriving daily forms the long term strategy. This is a challenging title that rewards meticulous planning and cold, calculated decision making. You can find the latest version of the game ready for deployment, offering the most recent procedural updates and crisis scenarios.

What was the best and worst part of making the game? Anything goes, nothing is out of bounds.
Sudden popularity is a good answer for both sides. It’s really cool to know that a lot of people like our demo, but we put so much pressure on ourselves that we definitely overcomplicated and overthought some things a few times after it
What was your first thought when you decided to make QZ?
It was actually an idea from our Programmer, and the first thought was “that sounds cool”.
Will there be different difficulties for the endless game mode? Like less symptoms being visible or measurable?
Not on release (the main focus would be on the campaign). But we want to focus some of our content updates on the endless mode, and then who knows what we will come up with.
Are there features that you wanted to include but couldn't for some reason? Are there plans for a dlc later on with more content?
We tried to implement some kind of morale system that included different events and affected the overall mood of survivors in the camp (survivors could throw trash at you and even become hostile and attack you). It was cool on paper, but the prototypes were too complicated, and it required so much additional work to support it that we decided to cut it.

Can we wear gloves or a hazmat suit when examining things? Cause we might accidentally touch zombie blood when doing examinations or taking contraband
That smart talk is for scientists, but commanders prefer using guns as a defensive measure

Will there also be Guarddogs like in the Logo Image?
We actually thought about including guard dogs as some kind of “1 extra life” upgrade. The dog would kill the infected that you missed in camp, but would die from contact with infected blood. We even thought about giving an achievement for keeping your starting dog alive until the end of the game, but it was very late in development, and we didn’t have time to think about it more and implement it. Maybe it will evolve into something in content updates.
Are each persons symptoms randomized or are they all pre programmed symptoms?
Some survivors are preconfigured, like the ones that teach you about new tools or have some references/story building behind them, but most of them are randomized with some kind of logic based on game progression.
Will there be more variety of weapons in the future or maybe some melee ones?
We want to add at least more ranged weapons in content updates after release. As a fun story - last week, one of our developers tested killing rats with the hammer and could not get even one, so melee combat is definitely not our strong suit right now lol

The game changed greatly since we launched the demo back in May of last year, and we’d like to highlight a few things:
New tools and improved existing tools are at your disposal
New tablet UI used for base and resource management, no longer using the cart for manual supply management
New gameplay elements, such as a science lab that adds more to the core gameplay loop
New quest system that adds variety to the screening process with specific rules and criteria for letting survivors through
And so much more for you to uncover
