Gravethorn is a dark 2D platformer that combines brutal souls like combat with non-linear exploration in the vein of a Metroidvania. You play as the Inquisitor, who has lost his memory, but not the burden of guilt. The world he explores is long infested with the roots of a curse that grow through stone, flesh, and dogma, binding church and earth in a single cycle of decay. Exploration is built around interconnected locations: ruined chapels, rotten forests, and dilapidated fortresses are connected by hidden routes and shortcuts that reveal themselves over time.

The environment bears traces of the past not in the form of direct explanations, but through details, architecture, and the consequences of past decisions. The world remembers the damage inflicted upon it and responds to the player's presence. The combat system demands utmost concentration. Enemies are dangerous, resources are limited, and recovery is never guaranteed. Success is achieved through pattern learning, distance control, and precise timing. Uncalculated aggression is punished, and patience becomes a key weapon. Every battle is a test of how far you're willing to go to understand the truth.
