UMIGARI is a tranquil yet unsettling first-person fishing game set in the misty waters off the coast of Japan. You set out alone, armed with a harpoon and a small boat. At first, everything seems familiar: catch, fuel, and returning to shore. But the further you travel from land, the more you feel as if the sea is watching you back. Hunting is built on precision and patience. The harpoon is unforgiving of haste fish move differently, reacting to noise and approach, and a miss means wasting time and resources.

Gradually, you encounter creatures whose behavior defies normal logic, forcing you to pay closer attention to your surroundings and your own actions. Money from your catch goes toward upgrading your boat and equipment. Increased fuel reserves open up longer routes, new islands, and strange discoveries amid the fog. The light horror here doesn't directly scare you it builds through the silence, the distance from shore, and the feeling that the further you sail, the fewer rules remain.
