Mandate Order is a war simulation and city building game from Digital Sky, set in ancient China during the Warring States period. The game mixes construction, management and tactical strategy in one continuous loop.

Building comes first. A free form system places residences, farms, workshops and barracks without a grid, forming a complete production chain. Seasonal cycles change the visual mood and the rhythm of the city, and spring plowing feeds the campaigns later in the year.

The retainer system brings the Hundred Schools of Thought into the city hall. Confucian, Daoist, Mohist, Legalist and Militarist scholars can be recruited and assigned to governance, command, diplomacy or policy. Their schools shape the direction of the state, and different combinations create different playstyles.

Diplomacy runs through alliances, ceasefires, trade and rivalries. The player rules like a city lord, choosing when to open borders and when to march. A nine grid national policy system works together with court debates, and the retainers vote with their own beliefs in mind.

Warfare is the final pillar. Battles scale to thousands of units on the field, and the player plans line compositions before the fight begins. The constant threat of invasion forces the city to balance production and defense without slowing down the economy.

This Early Access release is Build 24693133 from August 12, 2026, around 11.97 GB in size. The game supports English, Simplified Chinese, French and German among other languages. For fans of deep city builders with a historical edge, Mandate Order offers a rich and layered campaign.

The production chain keeps the city alive between campaigns. Farms feed the population, workshops supply the army, and barracks train new units while the borders stay guarded. The weather system adds another layer, since rain and drought change both harvests and marching conditions. Enemies attack in waves from several directions, so the city walls need constant upgrades and patrols. The game rewards players who treat construction and warfare as one system instead of two separate screens.
