The Spotter Dig or Die is an indie action-adventure game that combines a mining simulator with tower defense mechanics in a post-apocalyptic Nevada. You play as Spotter, the manager of an abandoned gas station near the ruins of Las Veganos. Your goal is to survive hordes of mutants while repairing a vital receiver to receive a vital message from the President. The gameplay is divided into day and night: during the day, you descend into the mines to mine resources, upgrade equipment like a shovel and jetpack, and discover roguelike artifacts that grant unique abilities.

As darkness falls, waves of mutants attack your gas station, forcing you to rely on strategically placed automated defenses, including machine guns, laser cannons, and rocket launchers, or take control of the main turret yourself. Three independent tech trees allow you to customize your character, base, and weapons, while specializations like Hunter, Suppressor, and Artilleryman foster distinct playstyles. Artifacts add variety to the roguelike experience, offering game-changing abilities like projectile slowing or deployable kamikaze drones. The primary goal is driven by the story: repair the receiver before time runs out and all hope is lost. Each playthrough combines resource management, strategic defensive construction, and direct combat in a test of survival where greed and caution constantly collide.
