Hotel Tales casts players as a newcomer to a unique hotel located at the crossroads of worlds. The guests are a diverse group of creatures: spirits, ancient deities, and characters from famous fairy tales; one of them is the skeleton Jeff from Room 7. The main objective is to survive the probationary period while uncovering the secrets of the establishment and delving into the stories of the guests.

The tasks in Hotel Tales require a variety of skills. You'll need to assign rooms, taking into account guests' preferences and special requests upon check-in. Then, you'll need to perform room service: delivering orders, fulfilling errands like brewing special potions, and resolving customer issues. Resolving conflicts between guests or staff is another activity that influences how others treat the player character and each other.

Communication isn't limited to routine; you'll need to help guests find lost items or even missing residents within their rooms. You can join visitors and colleagues for shared meals, participate in weekend outings, or take photos of the action for your sticker collection. Your decisions shape your relationships with colleagues, paving the way for friendship or romance, as each character has their own destiny, influenced by the protagonist's actions.

Daily choices shape the storyline leading to one of several endings. The outcome depends on your diligence at work, the relationships you build, and your actions at key moments. The outcome could include uncovering the hotel's deep secrets or even its destruction all dependent on your successes throughout the game. This variety of endings allows you to experience a variety of gameplay scenarios.
